ILR application, 28-day date confirmation
« on: August 02, 2023, 03:13:33 PM »
It's finally that time to get moving on my ILR SET(m) application. I would love confirmation that I'm calculating my earliest date to apply correctly

Switched from a Tier-2 Intracompany Transfer to an FLR(m) visa on 13 September 2018 kicking off my 5-year clock for settlement.

Based on my math, this has me eligible to apply for ILR from 16 August 2023. Is that correct?

Thank you all. This forum has been incredibly helpful for me since my initial visa back in 2011.

Closing the loop in case anyone stumbles upon this while searching in the future.

The 16th of August was, in fact, within the 28-day window.

I submitted my application at 1 AM on the 16th to grab one of the super-priority service slots. My payment was confirmed at 01:01, and I received the registration access code to book my appointment through UKVCAS immediately.

My appointment was scheduled at London Mark Lane for 09:00 the same day (16th). Uploaded my documents immediately and attended my appointment for biometrics.

I received the application approval email at 14:19 on the 16th.

In total, I went from application submission to ILR approval in a total of 13 hours and 20 minutes. Super excited and relieved to be done. Good luck to everyone else going through the process now and in the future.

This forum has been incredibly helpful for me since my initial visa back in 2011.

Congratulations.

My initial thought was what about ILR on the 10 year Long Residence, but from your dates it seems you had more than a six month gap outside the UK since 2011?

The UK closed the 5 years route to settlement on the Tier 2(ICT) visa at the beginning of April 2010.

Those who applied for that visa between 5th(?) April 2010 and 4th(?) April 2011, were allowed to get ILR on this visa after 10 years in the UK, but they had to remain with that same ICT visa sponsor for 10 years.

For applicants from April 2011 there was no way to get ILR on a Tier 2 (ICT) visa even though the UK had raised the requirements to be able to get this visa.

If you left the UK with a valid visa and returned within 6 months with a different valid visa, then your continuous stay for ILR after10 years (LR) wasn’t broken.

I assume you know that those married to a British Citizen can apply to naturalise as British Citizen as soon as they are granted ILR and meet the other requirements?
