ILR application - before or after new baby is born?
« on: August 11, 2023, 05:02:01 PM »
Hi all,

My wife and I are getting ready for our first baby due in mid-September and also need to get her ILR application in before her current BRP expires in December. We were planning on submitting the application before the baby arrives but reading through the advice and timelines on this forum it feels like it might be a bit tight to submit application this week > get biometrics appt (not willing to pay for priority!) > attend biometrics and submit all before her due-date.

But I have a couple of questions to help us make up our mind on what to-do:

1. If we submit our application, paperwork etc. BEFORE the baby is born but then don't attend the biometrics until AFTER baby is born, would we then need to update / re-submit evidence for the new child?

2. If we are submitting after the baby is born, would we need to wait until we have registered the birth etc. before we can submit our application? Any other advice for paperwork to submit for a very, very newborn would be most appreciated!

Any advice or guidance would be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Ben
