I hope it's all gone well. I am also getting my ducks in a row and about to apply for ILR... and I was completely gobsmacked to see the cost. After filling out the on-line application form it said it would cost £2885. I couldn't believe it, as I had been expecting a significantly lower figure. Then I read that as of October, the visa fees have been raised by 20% which, in my very humble opinion, is a bit of an outrage. Anyway, just checking to see if that's what you paid, or if that's what the going rate is now.! Thanks. H

On the bright side, there is no immigration health surcharge for ILR.  :-\\\\

The health surcharge should be something that gets reimbursed to those who have worked and contributed to "the system" through taxes paid on their wages.  But then again, that would be something that's fair and just, and when dealing with bloated bureaucracies, things are never fair and just.

For those that do things legally and the way they're expected to be done, they get the shaft and have to pay for those that break the rules and leech off the system. /rant

But yeah, with governments, the cost of things never comes down, they only go up.  The things we do for love....

It should go in the Residence in the UK section along with the following:
- latest mortgage statement
- latest council tax statement
- your cohabitation documents

Yes, your marriage certificate goes in the Other section

Nope - no need to mention anything. People move all the time so it’s pretty common to have mail from different addresses. The important thing is that you show that both of you were living at the same address as each other at the same time.

Nope, no need to mention or acknowledge it.

The majority of applicants have their mortgage only in the sponsor’s name because it can be difficult for a visa holder to get approved for a mortgage (and the mortgage rates are usually more expensive if you are on a visa).

They consider your accommodation evidence to cover you both ‘as a couple’, so the house only needs to be owned by one of you, not both.

Thanks ksand. There's no section that is specifically titled to upload the title register though - if anyone else has recently applied and is reading this, please let me know if it was with same for you!!

Edited to add a screenshot of the only two sections that I see to upload residence documents:

Maybe they’ve changed the sections, but the title register is the most important residence document as it proves you own the property you live in, so it must be included in the residence section

If there’s no other option given, I would upload it under ‘monthly housing costs’ along with the mortgage statement, as the mortgage and title deeds go hand-in-hand to show you own the property.

Just want to say I got my ILR today ;D

Can’t express my gratitude for everyone who takes time out of their day to help us visa applicants. I used UK Yankee for my initial spouse visa, FLR(M), and ILR - and soon to be citizenship!

 Thank you all so much
