Brilliant! And presumably WEP not even part of the discussion?

WEP not even mentioned.  Worth around $500/month to me as I would have been WEP'ed to the max.

Now that my wife and I know exactly what we will be getting, I believe she should be able to apply for another little boost as her monthly payments are less than half of what mine would be at FRA.

Any idea how best to apply for this spousal increase?

On an encouraging note: things may be getting better at the FBU, despite the muskiness.

I applied online via mysocialsecurity.com (using ID.me) and emailed the FBU on January 26th. I just had an email from them that they will call us for a phone interview May 14th.

Pretty happy with that!

I got my benefit verification letter from SS today for starting my SS in February at age 70. I actually received my first payment into my UK bank account a few days ago, for the month of February, and the letter states that the payment will continue on or around the 3rd of each month starting in April.

Given that my wife's new SS payments after WEP removed will also start in April and that she has already received her back payment lump sum from January 2024 then I couldn't be happier with the SSA.
