Also also not an accident: there's some scuttlebutt that the US is preparing incursions into Mexico, supposedly to fight drug cartels.
The night-time armor movements by train from NorCal to SoCal would support that, although I've also seen massive cross-country trains full of military equipment in years gone by, out in the middle of nowhere, when we weren't gearing up to do anything to anyone, really. But something doesn't smell right here.
If they go through the San Ysidro (San Diego) border, it'll be the Arellano-Felix Cartel. Nasty souls, but they don't control a huge part of Mexico. It would be flashy for Trump to pull something off there. Same with the Juarez (across the river from El Paso, TX) Cartel. But both are in heavily populated areas.
The Sinaloa Cartel (and allies) has tentacles everywhere and would be a great target, but, although they are on the coast they are a long way south of the border. I don't think even Trump is stupid enough to invade that far into the country, unless they go by sea. Which is never out of the question, really. Same with the Los Zetas. Might be easier to hit them, as they are right across the Rio Grande from Texas, not a heavily populated area. But they control a lot of ground. My guess is, if they do it, it'd be the A-F or the Juarez Cartels if they do a quick-strike, targeted attack. Otherwise they'll rumble across the Texas border - less civilians in the way.
I'm no fan of the Cartels, but invading another country to deal with them (or fabricating an invitation from the leaders of another country to do it - wanna bet?) is way, way out of bounds here.
