Kristi- the most obvisous non-hormonal birth control method I can think of is a non-hormonal IUD (there are two kinds, one releases hormones and the other doesnt). I've been told that women in monogomous relationships are ideal candaites (apparently if you get an STD with the IUD, there is a slightly greater chance of scaring etc). I've also been told that ideally you should have already had a child. This is for ease of insertion and less of a chance of uterine tearing, and less of a chance of explusion. However, as long as you get it inserted during your period, and check it every month or so (to make sure it hasn't been expelled) you should be fine.
Does anyone know if your periods are supose to get lighter or heavier on the IUD?
