Pebbles, we had the most luck with electrical tape because we use the Pamper's Active Fit and the strap area is much smaller than regular diapers.  But yes, it worked a treat.  He never got out of them and has since stopped trying.

OK. So here's my worst new-mom story.
When I had Jordan I was nearly 28. I was such a proud new mommy. I dressed Jordan like an angel and wouldn't let anyone touch him as he was sacred. I bathed him everyday and rubbed his precious skin with baby oil. But one day I realized that no matter what i did this baby smelled like sour milk or something. I frantically took him to the doctor. As I sat in the pediatrician's office with my little son in his crisply ironed clothes I told the Dr how worried I was about this horrible smell. "I keep him so clean!" Well what I wasn't doing was actually washing baby UNDER his chin and all his fatty folds of skin so all the milk that would drip when I was feeding him would just accumulate around the folds of skin on his neck. It was so smelly and gross and the rash! Oh dear! I felt like such a failure :(  My poor baby!!
Now 3 babies later when I bath Jack I pull his neck and scrub but good! I realize 10 years later then they wont break!

Hey! No puking!!!

The runny poo is easiest because it simply washes down the drain.  ;D

Cuz, you'd just have to clean it up yourself anyway.   ;)

Ok, here's another horrid mummy story.

I had really long hair when I had my first.  He was bathed every single evening before bed.  One night, something happen to catch my eye.  Looking down at his little toes, a saw a piece of hair wrapped tightly around the toe next to the big toe.  I mean cutting-into-his-skin kinda tight.  I tried and tried to remove it.  God knows how it got wrapped so tightly, but in the end I couldn't do it.

I ended up taking him to the hospital to have it removed.  Surprisingly they told me that this happens quite often.  So mums with long hair (especially light coloured long hair), keep a careful eye on little toes and fingers.  It's surprising how far your hair will travel.

cait, your story reminds me of when we had a litter of new born baby hampsters and one of them lost his foot as i'd put cotton in their cage as i'd never had baby hampsters and his little foot got strangled and pulled off in the cotton.

i was SOOOOOO sad.  turns out, he was the first one purchased from the pet store when we broght them there to be sold!  poor stumpy.

Oh yeah Cait. I have a friend who is Hawaiian and she has very long thick hair. She told me that happened to her baby also. She said he just would quit crying. Finally when she found the problem she found his toe all purple with her hair wrapped tightly around it. So sad. I wear my hair long so Im always careful of that. I think I have found a few long hairs mixed with poo poo though. yucka!

We ran a bath for Aillidh too close to her next feed (she was about 2 months old).  Well, she was very unhappy when the bath was finally ready, so we thought we'd give her a quick wash.  But she peed as soon as she was in the water.  Right, so I just put this lovely towelling robe on her and thought, I'll give her a feed whilst Dh draws a new bath.  As soon as she got a sip of her feed, however, she did a . . . runny poo.  Dh had to hold the robe up w/one hand whilst she drank the rest of the bottle (to separate her from it whilst cleaning her would have REALLY put her in the strop!).  We ended up just holding her in the waterless tub and running jugs of water over her.  Boak.

Anyone else have the pleasure of a projectile poo?  A few months back our little one had a bit of diarrhea, and while I was changing him he managed to... erm... coat the wall.   :P

OMG!  No, can't say I've ever had the pleasure, but with two boys, I can say that I've had my share of 'wee showers'.

How's that snooze button of yours doing Lola? Mine is almost broken from being hit so hard!!!  ;D
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
