Will I ever have a peaceful tea time again?
« on: February 13, 2005, 07:34:37 PM »
Right.  So little monster has never really taken to the idea of grown up food.  He likes his stuff mushed together and covered it tomato sauce (hence spaghetti goes down well).

He'll eat all kinds of fresh fruit, but when it comes to meat and vegetables?  Pah!  It's a fight every tea time.

If we can get him to take a mouthful, he doesn't chew it.  He just stores it in his cheeks until he has no more room left.  It eventually slides down the trap, but by god is it a struggle to get him to eat.

And tonight's latest trick?  Corn kernels up the nose.  Yes, folks, let me tell you: there's nothing more appetising than fishing corn out of your child's nose during dinner.  Thank god I haven't trimmed my nails recently or I'd have never gotten it out.   ::)

He he. My mum says I used to store the food up in my cheeks like that and then spit it all out.  Lucky Ethan's not at that  stage yet so I can just laugh naievely at you. He he.

Well, with any luck you'll never have to go through it.  Son #1 never had a problem with food.  As they say: he could eat the horse and chase the driver.

Oh so cute!  Might be because I don't have kids yet that I say this!  So remind me when the time comes that I thought it was cute!!!!

Oh NO!  Not the old Gerbil behaviour!  Ick.  Molly used to store peas for hours.   :P  She also used to regurgitate, but that's a different story.   :-X

I'll swap you tea time for bed time.  She is REALLY taking the strop tonight and is still awake.  Yes, it's 10.41PM.    :( >:(

I'll swap you up late at night for up early in the morning. Ethan fell asleep just after 5 and has not woken for his evening bottle and as he rarely sleeps longer than 12 hours Ii am expecting to be up at 5am tomorrow.

Ah, see, I'm doubly blessed.  Cos I get stroppy bed times too.  Not every night, but occasionally he'll go down at 9 and still be bouncing in his crib at 11.  *sigh*  Oh, and did I mention, his crib is in our room and hubby has to be up at 5am.

Now as far as early mornings go, I can sleep through darn near anything.  Including boyo bouncing in his cot like a loon.  He's taken to chucking his stuff animals at me to wake me up.  ::)

Yikes!  That's harsh.  As a nightowl, it's what I dread the most.

The little radge was up at 8AM.  Doesn't she realise how precious sleep is??

Well, we were played for fools last night for sure.  Here we were, thinking the poor wee one was in major pain (she's cutting the last of her molars), yet funny how she instantly stopped crying when she got to lay on the couch next to Mummy and Daddy.

She won't be getting away w/this tonight!  DH is already psyching himself out and has the speech prepared about how wee ones have to go to bed so Mummy and Daddy can have some alone time.

OH, believe me.  That is not even CLOSE to being the scary stuff.  It gets ALOT more scary than that.  :o

Birth control. Thanks ladies, I needed a dose of that!  ;D
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
