Yippee...free trip to US!
« on: March 03, 2005, 08:34:14 AM »
Our school is changing around their schedule in the high school (where I work) and so they want people to go visit a school in the States during our spring break to talk to people there about how they deal with the schedule (which is the same as what we are adopting).  I asked if I could go so that I could talk to the counselor and any LD support people.  So I get a free trip to the US this month!!!  I'll get to see some friends and possibly family as I'll be heading to Baltimore...have great friends in DC & family in Pa...not too far!  Yeah  - a free flight to the US!

Baltimore? You must got to the Paper Moon restaurant - I love that place and my British DH can't wait to go there again!

We'll be there the first 2 weeks in May!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

We're gonna be in Balmer in 2 weeks in May as well!  Just booked our tickets!!

Will you be dealing with people from the Baltimore City or County school system?  If the former, watch out for flying bullets j/k!!

Forgot the say, the Paper Moon diner is great.  I love all the stuff in there.  We just to go during college every so often.  My friend especially likes how they have the sort of "I don't care, just order your food, no it's not on the menu get something else" kind of attitude from the wait staff  ;)  I hear Cafe Hon is good in Hampden as well.  I've been meaning to make it over there, maybe I'll go in May.

Cafe Hon is good, too. As is One World Cafe (Federal Hill and Johns Hopkins uni area) and City Cafe (my old haunt in Mt Vernon).

Going to a few private schools...as I work for one here in London.  I just have to work out the details.  Poor Roy is sad though that he'll lose me for at least 1-1/2 weeks.  But I may not get a chance to go to the States again until '06 some time.
