Hershey's Kisses
« on: March 28, 2005, 04:25:46 PM »
I found a few of the BIG Hershey's Kisses at Asda. I was really looking forward to them as I haven't had kisses in ages but I was really surprised! They are really bland and not very chocolatey! I guess after having Galaxy and Cadbury's I'm spoiled, lol. Anyone else notice this after not having a fave food or drink for awhile?

Yes, LisaE gave me a Twinkee and I was sooooooo excited, until I got the thing in my mouth!  And it was too too sweet.  Like eating corn syrup.   :-X  I had to choke it down!

my kids describe Twinkees and skip the rush, straight to the crash :)

I noticed the same about Hershey kisses... a security guard at my work gave me a handful.  I ate one,  smiled on the outside, but retched on the inside at how awful it tasted, and dumped the rest in the bin once i was out of the guy's sight.

I used to be a big Hershey's fan once too.  But ever since my colleague at work remarked that it "smells like sick" I have totally gone off it!  I'm definitely a Cadbury's girl now.

As for trying things after awhile and not having the same experience, this was totally true for me and Taco Bell.  I was an absolute Taco Bell junkie before I moved here.  When I've gone back the last few times though, I can't really stomach the stuff anymore.  Don't get me wrong...I still lust after it in my dreams, but the reality just doesn't seem to be as good!  Kinda sad really.   :-\\\\

Hershey's Kisses = wax

However, they are survivable when you make those peanut butter cookies with the Kiss in the middle.  The cookie disguises it.

I saw a Hershey's Kiss maker at Wal-Mart and thought about getting it just to bring home and make them with REAL chocolate!  ;D

You can get dark chocolate kisses here now.  Also 'creamy' milk chocolate (closer to Cadbury's), milk chocolate filled with caramel (yum!), white chocolate, dark chocolate with nuts, creamy chocolate with toffee, white chocolate and milk chocolate swirled (aka Hershey's Hugs!), mint chocolate, etc., etc., etc.  I don't care for dark chocolate so I don't buy them....the only others that I like are the creamy milk chocolate and the milk chocolate with caramel.  The rest of them are TOOOO waxy!
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.
