Total health makeover
« on: April 04, 2005, 10:13:04 AM »
has anyone had any experience  or is interested in trying Marilu Henner's  THM  regime.??

It is for  30 days..and promises better health and weight loss.. It seems to  be about food combining and  execising and  thus feeling  more energetic.. what you put into your sustem  and how it affects you..
she also has a website  www.marilu.com

I am giving it a  month..hoping for  results..  am on day two of countdown  (detox) before  it gets  "serious"..   ;D ;D

Got your email about it and just dont wanna try any more programs at the moment. Doing pretty well with the dancing and exercising thing. But let me know how it works out for you. I cant imagine how an Italian American can handle not having pasta!!  :P :P

I couldn't give  up pasta that is why I could never do  the  low carb  that you are doing..  it's more about not mixing  starches  with proteins basically..  and eating nothing but fruits in the morning.. stuff liek that.. only living here I imagine.. not sure yet.. it will be  a lot harder  to find  'special foods'..

I remember seeing her on David Letterman, (I think that was the show) and she was promoting a book, and one of the chapters was about poop, and she was saying the best poop is the poop that floats.....hope nobodys eating while reading this.......that just cracked me up, because I used to have a cat, and kept the poop box in the bathroom and would empty her poop into the toilet, and her poop always floated!!!!

hee hee! Cracking up over the floating poop!!!  ;D

I got one of Marilu Henner's books out of the library once -- based on how healthy and happy she looked on Letterman or Leno or one of those. But the program looked too difficult for me to handle. There are too many foods I can't live without! And all the combining sounded very complicated. Or maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to tackle it at the time. Excuses, excuses ...  ;)

Let me know how you do with it, though! I'm always interested to hear success stories -- and, who knows, you might even convince me to give it another shot!

yeah I saw one member in the forum somewhere whose online profile read that she was from 'Poopshoot, America'...wonder if the poop floats there?

Sorry, azroomie, for the septic turn your respectable post took.

My thing is I just have no discipline enough to follow a program like that.  I've tried the Atkins & the South Beach thing and usually don't last a week.  Exercise for me is the same way if I try to plan it.  Basically, I have a good hubby who is generally giving me a nudge (often at my protest) to eat better & hike, etc. :)

floating poop?  that doesn't sound right.. poop isn't supposed to float..but then again  she is a vegetarian  and doesn't eat dairy..  (a bit extreme  for me  ..)   but she makes  allowances  for the rest of us who don't want to give up all the better stuff..    it's just a matter of food combining  and not mixing certain foods  so you digest stuff easily  instead of it sitting and fermenting.. ..

hmm.. is there  a thread where  we can post our individual.. "in process..as we go along"  stories??   maybe we can give each other advice and  encouragement??  at least it's a  sunny day.. actually got out and  walked..   will review  my NYC  ballet workout today to see if i can do it on the 'off' days..   OK  need to mop..  :-\\\\

NYC Ballet workout! I didnt know you had that. I must borrow. I nearly bought it last week off Ebay till I read the reviews. I heard its very difficult for the beginner and because everyone is dressed in black with the black backdrop it makes it nearly impossible to follow. Let me know how it goes!!

There should be a chapter called the complete 'scoop on our poop' with everything about digestive works, and poop.
