« on: April 24, 2005, 04:19:05 PM »

I just got a nice little foldy upy ones so I can jump on and off busses when I get too tired :P I'm not a militant bicyclist but I noticed a few around  >:( I went to our local bike shop to buy a portable air pump and one of these tour de france wanna bes knocked my bike over and didn't even apologize...and got a bit anal when someone stood near their bike to have a chat  ::)

so any cyclist here...any one found it hard to pedal about ...anyone find cyclist annoying when driving around  ;D

I want to get a bicycle - but trying to sort out finances first.  How have you found the foldy up bike?
Ask and ye shall be babbled at.

Oh don't start me off on being knocked over by cyclists! I really hate people on bikes who go straight through red lights at pedestrian crossings.

My husband is a cyclist whenever he has recovered from his latest spectacular crash. ;D

maybe I'm too chicken but I tend to walk my bike more  on crosswalks and sidewalks than actually ride it on the road. I have to do a health visiting placement so the bike is excellent to get around the different house visits. I can fold it up to hop on the bus and it's fine. It's much smaller so I can go into shops without having to chain it up (which I have lost a few bikes that way) I actually looks more like a child's bmx bike ...up hills are horrid as it only has one gear (it's a cheapy and maybe upgrade if I get more used to it) It's a funny chinese bike it really should say "mobility" on the side but it's badly spelt and says "mobilly"  ;D so he's been christened "Moe"

Steve lives right on the leeds-liverpool canal and we want to start biking, so we may get some cheapy bikes and try that. I think it's a great idea!

We're planning to do that too (neighbor-to-be).  Also, my Steve is thinking about commuting to work that way when the weather is pleasant in the summer, 'cause we're relatively close to the canal in Horsforth & his office is nearby to it in Leeds.

Sounds like a good time overall :) We'll have to set something up then on those nice summer days (if we have them)  ;)
