Road signs
« on: May 22, 2005, 11:14:19 AM »
I was going to stop and take a picture of the sign that said CATS EYES REMOVED when I drove past it a couple of weeks ago ... but I couldn't see anywhere safe to park. So I'll share this from yesterday

Any other road signs you find a bit ... odd ... ??

I don't have a picture of it, but I always found 'heavy plant moving' to be quite funny.  I picture this big plant picking its pot up and moving.

My best friend always like the 'no cat eyes for x miles'.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

There's a sign at the perpetual roadworks just outside of Glasgow which says 'ADVERSE CAMBER'.
I had to look it up when i got home, as i had NO idea what that meant.

Just after we arrived in here, a sign went up near our house that said "CHANGED PRIORITIES AHEAD".  How true!

There's a sign nr Straiton in Loanhead that reads "Rising Bollards".  I think I've figured out what that means, but it still sounds vaguely rude to me...  ;)
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

I recall a US-based TV show back in the '80s Max Headroom. The name never really meant to much to me; I just figured it was a made-up thing.

About two years ago we were driving someplace and I couldn't believe my eyes! "Max Headroom!" I think I even shrieked it outloud when I saw that sign on the front of a UK underground carpark. It took about 15 years for that penny to drop.
Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)

He was called that because that was the last thing his alter-ego/human form saw as he crashed into a "Max Headroom" sign.  I was a big fan of the show.

That's hysterical! I love the "No Fouling" signs here with the picture of the dog actually making a poo! How graphic is that?!?!

There used to be a sign in front of the local plant nursery (here in the US) that said 'Best Weed and Feed in Town).  My friend and I couldn't help but laugh everytime we drove past it.  (I guess we are just immature ::)).

There was a place back in RI that had a big sign boasting, "Second Best Chinese Food in Rhode Island!"  ;D  I never did figure out who had the best.

I suppose you have to give them credit for honesty, eh?

The road to the dump in my parent's town is THROWITA WAY.  That one always cracks me up.
