But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Stuff yourself on Mexican food because you'll be lucky to find any here that's edible! Have a going away party. Make sure you've got everyone's addresses, phone numbers and email addresses written down in a safe place.

Have a great trip!

If your visa was put in your married name (which mine was), then carry your marriage certificate with you when you travel and show it when you show your ticket - that's what I had to do.

Now, since you were denied once, be prepared to be stopped (for a short bit) at the airport when you get into London.  Don't panic.  I was not denied entry when I came last year without a visa (but I got in by the grace of God and the skin of my teeth, you may have read my story on here before...anyway), if they have ANYTHING on you on record like that (as in: being questioned, held, or denied entry) they will check it out, because there will be a "mark" on you.  Again, don't panic, stay calm.  They will ask you where your husband is and if he is travelling with you.  Just tell them that he is there to pick you up and don't act guilty - because now you're are not.  You have your visa, you have entry clearance, so just stay calm, smile, and answer their questions politely.

Don't worry... I know, easier said, but really don't worry.  ~~hugs and congrats¬¬

Good luck to you Shala, this must be so exciting. :) Something I did before I moved to England that I was always *really* glad I did... I made a little mini photo album of things i knew I'd miss. Some of my family, my favorite parks, the last place I lived... just a few things here and there that I could look back on when I was having moments of homesickness. :) Good luck on your upcoming adventure!
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!
