BA gives you the option, on their website and by phone, of paying $20 to change your ticket to a flexible one, in case you are not sure of dates. Then it's $100 to change, plus any increase, but I think it's worth it in case of emergencies, unless you're not booking that far ahead like I am(4 and a half months)
