Counter Cheque
« on: July 16, 2005, 06:33:10 PM »

Ok, I'm stumped. Is it just a normal cheque? Someone told me they were easier to cash as in they don't take as long for the bank to clear. True? False? Anyone?
I know I'm late - where's the booze?

That's my understanding twisted, they should clear quicker than a personal cheque. Probably depends on your bank though, they may treat all cheques the same.

A counter cheque is already cleared funds.
In order for someone to get a counter cheque drawn up, the teller has to make sure they have the money in the account, and it is taken out of their account instantly, so the cheque doesnt have to wait to clear.
