UK Fiancee Visa to UK Marraige Visa question
« on: July 28, 2005, 04:39:24 PM »
Hello all you helpful people, once again I have another question to help me and my girlfriend progress through!

With your help, she has managed to acquire a Fiancee Visa and is back in the UK with me, we have also booked our wedding (10th August) and have all the forms necessary to go ahead and get married! :D

However, one thing remains in the back of our minds... what after we're married? Do we need to get a Marraige Visa? if so, how?

Any help greatly appreciated!

After you get married, she applies for FLR(M) - there links all over this place to the form!  I'd do one here but I'm on my way out the door!

Congrats - and have a great wedding!

It's a very straight-forward process. I converted my student visa to a marriage/settlement visa last year with no trouble whatsoever. Like peedal said, just fill out the FLR(M) form, collect a few pieces of information, pay the fee, and get your visa. I did it in person about a week after my wedding because I was feeling paranoid, but in retrospect it was so straight forward that I should have saved myself a few quid AND more than a few hours sitting around the Home Office and done it by mail. I will definitely be doing my ILR by mail!!!

Congratulations on your impending wedding!!!
