Yes I've been lax.....
« on: September 16, 2003, 12:17:35 AM »
Yes I have been extremely lax with this board and I am only now going to make up for my neglect of my poor little board...

Even though there are many things that your partner misses about being in the states, is there anything that they have learned to love in the UK and just couldn't live without it? (except for the obvious answer of course)

Yes: Stella on tap, our local pub, Sunday roasts and Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi. All of these things he apparently cannot do without, after only a few short months!

I know that both Elle and Wench are now addicted to a place called Wagamama in London!

But taking this from the other angle too ;)

I miss Krispy Kreme! :(  And as soon as the one at Harods opens up I'm there!!

Since I can't seem to convince my hubby to contribute, I'll do it for him.  "She couldn't do without Schwepps Lemonade, proper bacon, The Premiership, Sunday roasts and a proper pint."

Yes, you have been lax, just so long as you're not EX-lax.

Thanks, elle.  Now the Sesame Street song is floating through my head and I'm trying to transcribe a crappy-taped meeting!

Since Phil doesn't post here, either:

Peedal couldn't live without curries, the bread, the cheese, brown sauce, pasties or inexpensive pate!

Since Tom does not post...I could not live without the proper teas, seriously strong cheese, the bacon here is excellent...and even though I do not eat much of it...the gravy granules "Bistro" are the best.  of course I can not forget the grainery breads.

My oldest - the biggest Stove Top Stuffing fan in the world - had me bring over Paxo stuffing for our Thanksgiving dinner in Florida!  Go figure!  ::)

:P

It's funny what one sees on the night patrol! *decides that she deserves 50 lashes*  I know it's harsh but I'm sure all the people who're singing the sesame street tune will be cheering me on!!

Aah!  Bisto!

Couldn't live without that, now, even here.  I also can't wait to have proper pints closely available (Caffrey's, please!) meat pies, little Scotch eggs from the Tesco, Curly Wurlys, Galaxy Swirls...the list goes on and on...

I love love love Bisto...it's a good thickner for all sorts of things....and makes a not bad version of Hamburger Helper either.

I miss (can't say would as am not there):  pub culture, the history, crisps in interesting flavours, Spanish foods I can get easier there, all things Blackcurrant, walking to places even in the rain,  Devon Dairy products and GREEK YOGURT with honey!!
