Summer.

Is anyone you know having a milestone birthday this year?

My husband the big 4-0.

Any plans for an exciting holiday this year?

My husband the big 4-0.

Mine too - in October.  He's such a young'un.

No particular exciting holiday plans at the moment.  We're in money-saving mode for now.  :-\\\\

Are you looking forward to summer?

Yes and no. I'll be back in Florida when it's approximately the same temperature as the face of the sun, so that's a drawback. On the bright side, my boyfriend will be with me, so that's a bonus!

Do you like to plan your holidays in detail, or do you prefer to mostly wing it and see what happens?

A little of both. I like to have a few choice things planned, then wing the rest.

Would you learn to scuba dive while you're on holiday?

That's a big negatory.  ;D  I have a lifelong fear of suffocation so I'll never go into an environment in which I can't breathe oxygen on my own (ie space, underwater).

Are your favorite vacation spots oriented towards beaches, mountains or cities?

It depends--I do like the seaside (I'm not a sunbather type, though), I like the beauty of mountains, but don't like hiking up steep ones (hubby does, though!), and I like the excitement of exploring different cities.  My favorite vacation destination is the rural west coast of Ireland.

When you were a kid what was your family's usual vacation destination?

When my 8-years-older-than-me brother decided to hold a seance using the Ouija board, with the neighbour kids out in our back yard, and he was scaring me to death talking about it beforehand - I was maybe 5 or 6.  My mom was upset because he was scaring me so much.  She made a plan with my 15-years-older-than-me brother on something they would do when the seance got underway.  She kept one walkie-talkie and my oldest brother took the other one and sneaked around the block, then stealthily up the alley behind the various sheds, etc - making sure those attending the seance didn't see him back there.  When they began to 'summon the spirits', my oldest brother turned the walkie-talkie volume up to full blast and my mom let loose on the other end with all sorts of ghastly sound effects.  You never saw a crowd of kids scream, run and disperse so quickly in all your life!  We all had a great laugh out of it, except the brother whose seance had been spoiled...or maybe it was successful, depending on how you look at it, but he didn't see it that way.

What are you looking forward to this spring?

Yes, my lovely builder is who I call!  And if he can't do it - he puts me in touch with his mates - the plumber, the electrician, etc.  :)

TPBM is having a lazy Sunday.

Whoops.  Wrong thread.  :-[  Are you doing anything special today?

Definitely not have a picnic unless it's at least warm-ish!  :D  I'd say depending on my energy levels it could be go walking in the countryside, visiting a stately historic house, or chilling at home.

Both. I'm a disability support worker, so it depends entirely on the person I'm working with!

What was your first job?
