Travel Insurance

Apparently I cannot get myself & our luggage insured for our trip to the U.S when we emigrate.

I have asked several companies who are absolutely stunned by the idea that I want to purchase an insurance policy that would just cover the trip, rather than any medical insurance. I thought this would be a simple matter, but if I take out a standard policy, it will not be covered as we are intending to stay in the US.

Has anyone any experience with insurance or got any ideas?

If you pay for your flight on certain credit cards, they may give you basic insuarnce which I think covers just the flight and lugage. But I could be wrong.

Slices,

That's what I thought, but they're closed today and I am impatient ;)  thank you!

I did manage to find a policy with STA travel (even though I 'm a bit long in the tooth to be a student!) and I have  48 hr policy that covers flights/baggage/cancellation/curtailment etc if anyone else finds themselves in this position. Cost was £8.00 per person!
