Will UK join the EURO currency?? what do you all think?

I heard that Great Britain is willing to join the euro currency? good bad? is this rite?

It will not happen,the UK economy is nothing like the rest of Europe.

Definitely bad, bad, bad........    :(

It would mean Britain's economy being controlled to a greater extent by Continental Europe,  and further loss of sovereignty to the EU.   Apparently it would also mean that our gold reserves would be physically transferred to the Central European Bank in, I believe, Frankfurt.

Will it happen?   Maybe not for a good few years, but unless we get somebody with a little common sense in government soon, I can see it happening eventually whether we like it or not.

In some ways I'm in favour of changing over,stops the money men making a profit from me everytime we travel and reduces the risk of speculators wrecking our economy,I'm against it because its a stupid name.
Maybe it would be better to have one "world" currency,that would solve many problems,we could call it the Pound LOL.

I think it's a bad thing. I think it would be dumb considering the pound is so stong... And it's the GBP, not the GBE.

There is no way that the UK will adopt the €.  No one in UK government in his/her right mind would approve that.

However, for purely selfish reasons and all else aside, I'd have no problem with it.   ;D

from a travel standpoint it would physcially be easier to have one wallet- not two. 

I would welcome a brief pro and con argunment explained to me.  are people worried that things will become more expensive?  are they worried about losing power?  are they worried about joining with a larger entity?

All of the above plus the pound is a strong part of the national identity of Britain.

lol yes like we don't have enough issues with spending here, at least now the politicians know what our money is worth, not that it matters much..  :-X
