Alsager area??
« on: September 28, 2005, 05:11:58 PM »
My cousin has found a rental for us from his friend. Its in the Alsager area of Stoke on Trent. Would any of you know anything about the area? keeping in mind I have two teenagers.
Also its a three bed for 600.00 pounds a month. Sound reasonable? the best thing is my pets are welcome. I'm really excited but just curious about the area. Thanks for any info.  :)

Sorry, don't know much about the area, but a three bed for £600 a month?  I wish I could find that price in London.   :)

Hi-- I live in Crewe which isn't too far from Alsager. It is in the Northwest which I like--reasonable cost of living. I have a 15 year old daughter and she has settled in well. I don't know Alsager well but know the general area if you have any specific questions.

Thanks HG. Its good to know cost of living is reasonable. Would you know anything about the schools? my daughter is 16 and son 15. Also, how is the area for after school and weekends for teens? safe enough for walking and cinemas? lots of nice shops? Is the area quiet with countryside nearby? or busy?
lol lots of questions I know. Thanks for any info  :)

Alsager is a small town with rural area nearby---has pretty much one main street with some shops. There isn't a cinema in walking distance. The bigger towns nearby are Stoke and Crewe---both of which can be accessed easily and safely by bus once the kids get used to things. Crewe just had a pizza hut open and has a cinema and bowling alley due to open November. Stoke already has these things. As far as schools go I dont know too much about Alsager schools specifically but my husband thinks they are pretty good. Near Alsager is Sandbach and they have a great reputation for schools. My daughter attends a catholic school in Crewe--- I am not sure if Alsager is considered part of their catchment area but if they are if there is any chance that you are Catholic your son would be guarenteed a spot---- and I have been soooo pleased with them!

a couple sites for you to check out--

Hope some of this helps--- When are you due to come over?

Thannks Helena.
Youve been a big help. Rural nearby? music to my ears. And the websites are a great help. thank you. I will arrive at Southampton Nov. 7, and make my way up that night. Sounds like it has all I need and with Stoke nearby for shopping I think my daughter will survive too. We are Christian but not Catholic  :(. Would have loved to get him in a good school like that. Maybe we can have a meet up for all on the forum in that area someday? Would love to meet some of you.
