Just moved to Fleet via NYC
« on: October 22, 2003, 08:30:33 PM »
Hi everyone,
I'm introducing myself.  My name is Kim and I've just moved to Fleet from New York.  (I'm originally from Michigan)
I was married just a few short weeks ago and live here now with my British husband as of October 8th.
I'm just trying to get my footing...  had my first driving lesson :(  --  I'm determined just to get in the car this weekend and drive...somewhere...
Well -  since I'm soooo new to the UK and since this is really my first post on this site, I'll leave it at that.

 Best to all of you...

Hi Beckett...welcome to UKY and congrats on your marriage. :) I'm glad you found this site. It's really helped a lot of people who have gone through or are going through the adjustments of moving. I'm sure you'll find lots of good advice and support here. Hope to see you posting more in the future. :)

Ok well silly me Beckett, I wrote to you on the other post.  Oh well.  Great to meet you.  Congratulations on your marriage.  Where is Fleet?  Please tell us how the driving goes this weekend.  It's the most daunting thing to me.

Oh Yeah.  Gas up the car, baby.  I'm free next week.  Hey...want to ride with me in the car while I practice my driving?

Hi Beckett and welcome to the site!  I am happy that you are flinging yourself into the whole driving thing.  I think it's pretty scarey but at the same time good for you!

Have you driven stick before?

I hope you continue to visit the site and contribute a lot.

Have a great day!

Sure, I'll go with you......I can relay what I've learned so perhaps you can shave a driving lesson off the schedule? I mean, you don't need to learn HOW to drive, just to pass the test!!! (Tell your instructor you want to test in Weybridge, not Aldershot!!!!)

BTW- For those of you who don't know, Kim lives in the same town as me....yeah!!!!! (Fleet is on the M3 in Northern Hampshire, about 45 minutes sw of London) I've got a neighbor!!!!!
