Gentle reminder: new settlement forms

Don't forget!

If you are applying for settlement (spouse, fiance, UP) after 14 Nov, be sure to fill out the new VAF2 form.  Of course the new forms are not available yet  ::) but should be within the next 10 days or so...

I'm filling out my form now, and it will be completed and paid before Nov 14. However, I won't be going to the appointment until the end of the month. Does that mean I need to fill out the new form or am I ok with the old form since it'll be completed before Nov 14?

What are the chance that the new form won't be available until the 16th at least?

I have the same issue as kysa... i am filling out my form on e fastrack now, and our appointment is on the 17th. I suppose I should just wait til the 14th and re-do the form then?

It's a hard date.

If they miss it, there's going to be problems coordinating the rest of December's roll-out.

That doesn't mean they won't miss it, but given the track record for *bleep*-ups in this area, the odds are that they are working hard to meet the deadlines.

Why are they doing a new form ?

How does this affect the e-fastrack? For instance, the fastrack keeps your saved information for 7 days, if you start filling it out on Nov 11, will it automatically update the form on the 14th to the new one when you go back to complete it, or will it force you to start all over?

I'm comtemplating on waiting untill the Nov 15 or 16 and start over on my form just to be on the safe side, but how will I know if the e-fastrack has been updated with the new form?

Would really hate to go to the appointment at the end of the month, and they tell us, to come back with the new forms, especially if we have to remake an appointment for a later date (our tickets are to return to the UK a few days later) :\\\'(

I'm so glad I saw this before I completely finished and paid for it  :)

so, should I do the fasttrack app now and pay, and have my appointment on the 21st, or just wait and download the new form on the 14th and bring it to the appt.??

Fair question!  Well put too.  I didn't think about that angle   :-[

Fast-track knows about the change and it will put the right form together for you.

So if you are fast-tracking, just ignore this thread   :o

Well..i wasn't going to do the fasttrack, since my df will be here to go in person, but if there is going to be a much longer form, it may be worth it??

Do you know what the changes are??

Will everyone HAVE to go for an appointment?  I will be applying to Chicago, and my understanding was that they don't do appointments unless there is some kind of a 'red flag'.  I haven't applied yet, just starting to, so I guess I will just wait until after the 16th.

Oops, one more question.  How will the new forms differ from the old ones??  Will there be more or different information required?
