working on a fiance visa

Is the no working on a fiance visa limited to work in the UK for a UK company while on a fiance visa, or......

am I allowed to work for a US company via from home (the UK) while on a fiance visa? Income from the US company would be directly deposited into my US account, if that matters.

It's a violation of the terms of the visa full stop.  They are pretty clear about it, and it's difficult to see where anybody would be confused about it.

There's some additional issues surrounding transferring the money earned offshore into the UK if you are domiciled here, the refusal of citizenship to al-Fayed for example...   Different scale, but same principle.

I receive a pension check automatically deposited to my account in the US each month from my exe's work (part of the divorce settlement).  Will I be able to keep that when I settle there with my fiance?  When I was visiting England before, I merely withdrew money from it using an ATM.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Yes.  Pensions, alimony, VA benefits, and so on are a different story.  And visitors are not domiciled here so different rules apply.

Well, thanks for clearing it up for me. And to be honest and with my experiences, it's not like the Home Office is often clear about a lot things.

And yes, I agree, it does state here: http://www.britainusa.com/visas/other_show.asp?SarticleType=25&Other_ID=320
that "EMPLOYMENT IS PROHIBITED until after your marriage and permission has been granted by the Home Office."

I'm sorry if I took that as employment in the UK from a UK employer, while your in the UK.

Visitors are not allowed employment in the UK either, however I was told this is meant from working for a UK employer, paid or unpaid in the UK while your visiting. You can not do anything (work) that will benefit the UK economy. With that being the case, I was told, there is no problem for me to work for my US company, if I was needed to while I was visiting the UK, because I was not working for a UK company paid or unpaid and it wasn't benefiting the UK economy. It was further explained, I am a US citizen working for a US company being paid by a US company, in US dollars, into my US bank account, benefitting the US economy, not the UK. I'm not trying to stress the US part either, just stating it the same way it was stated to me.

So for my 'confusion' ....I was told the above by Home Office when it clearly states 'Employment is prohibited' on my passport every time I have entered the UK as a visitor. I had phoned Home Office while I was visiting regarding that, because I didn't want to get into trouble when my employer sent me an email to do something for a client, in which I was being paid. (and I was hoping to have an excuse of not working on my holiday)

I just wanted to clarify if the 'Employment is prohibited' is meant in the same way on the fiance visa vs the visit.

I have absolutely no problems with not working while on the fiance visa, besides, I'll be too busy settling in and planning a wedding.  :)
