Watched Gone With The Wind yesterday -- I was channel-surfing & it was on TCM.  (Have seen it many times before.)

Always like the drama of the Rhett/Scarlet romance, but can't stand how it shows the slaves all happy & obedient with plantation life. ::)

That's what my sister said, as well.  I think I'll give it a miss.

Regarding Henry - the best thing Harrison Ford has EVER done!  It's been 15 odd years since I watched it; it was good to see it again.
I was born in the Summer and at Night...my mother named me AUTUMN DAWN.  True story.

Jamie's...beyond the stars and past eternity.

EMAIL or PM me for information about gigs or about booking me (solo gig) or the band.

Which reminds me....  Hattie McDaniel was just issued on a US stamp this month.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled thread....

Her portrayal of Mammy is quite good -- like the bits where she's trying to talk some sense into Scarlett's character, reminding Scarlett that Ashley is Melanie's husband & so forth... :)

Dogville -- neither of us (DH & I) are sure we can say we liked the movie...but it certainly was stark and memorable -- that's one of my movie assessing yardsticks:  Does it stick with you?  Is it memorable?

Now I have not seen that yet -- will have to put it on our DVD queue list though.  I read the book awhile back (over Christmas) and it was fab!  (And I *love* Savannah, Georgia!) :)

Dangerous Beauty...which, despite the sumptuous settings, costumes and scenery, was ludicrously awful...save for the presence of Rufus Sewell.
