got visa, how do I use it?

Couple easy questions, if you please.
I have my ILE, do I need to fill out the customs card on the plane?
(I'm usually so tired by the time I get there, I can't remember what it even says

Do I go through the Brit line at Heathrow?
Will they ask anything, or just accept that I have leave to enter?

ILE-less than five hours
Green card- two years

Despite holding ILE, you are still subject to immigration control.  You need to fill out a landing card, and the IO needs to confirm that you still have ILE.

You cannot use the EU/British queue, but there's nothing that says you cannot try.   I did it all the time when I was on work permits back in the 90's.

If there's a queue entitled 'permanent residents', you can use that one.  Otherwise it's the long queue with all the rabble.

I'm here on a Work Permit, and I travel outside the UK frequently on business directed by my UK employer.  Both Heathrow and Gatwick now regularly have a queue open for UK residents with visas.  Sometimes I go straight up to the desk without waiting at all.  It's made things a lot easier.

Less than 6 hours before I hop the coach to O'hare.

High winds and light snow here. Bad day for travel but a good one to leave the area.
