I'm a natural
« on: November 03, 2003, 09:55:51 AM »
Well, one item of post managed to get through this morning, but it was a doozie.

My naturalization came through. I am now, also, a British subject.  ;D

Does that mean I should start spelling naturalization as 'naturalisation'?

Off to practice saying 'cheers' now...

I am SO excited for you!!  (And can't wait to join you, too!)

Does it feel as good as you'd thought?

I've been busy filling in the Passport application...next on the list is to do online registering to vote!

BTW, thought online applying for the passport would be cool, except that once I got into the application online, turns out all they do is print it out and then post it to you to send in with all your other stuff. I already had the other application all filled in by hand. Seems an unecessary delay to do it online. Just FYI if anyone wondered.

And thanks for the congrats! I feel like I should feel different and I told some guy this morning and he was "well, so?".

I'll let you know about the passport application once I go through the process more.

Sweetheart, that's fantastic news!

First thing I thought of when I read this is "Oh, I bet it would be fun to say "actually, I'm British" when some jerk makes fun of Americans." Hee hee.

Gosh, thank you everyone!
I know...I was wondering what my reaction would be if someone asked what nationality I was. I don't think I could keep a straight face, and knowing me, that one simple question I'd give twenty pages of explanation.

i havent been following your progress, so sorry if you have already answered this question...BUT ...you obtain dual citizenship?  you need to write your experience for the procedure and make it a sticky topic here.  i'm sure others will be needing this info.
