My uncle sent us some gifts for Christmas last year, even marked the parcel "gifts" and we still had to pay duty on it - about 25 pounds.   :(

Ugh. It's such a scam, isn't it. I know there are rules in place for a reason, but I sometimes think in general no one makes it easy for an intercontinental marriage to work.
