But if you are making Green bean casserole, both Sainsburys and Morrison's sell crispy Onions in the Salad cream sections.  :D

Just thought I would pass this on to everyone. I saw them this weekend, at S, then today at Morrison's when I stopped in for some stuff I forgot to pick up.  :)

Mindy!!! Eeven I now how to make green bean casserole!! I posted a recipe in the UKY cookbook for it.  Basically a load of green beans, Cambell's condensed mushroom soup, topped with crispy onions and/or other crspy things, bung it in the oven, hey presto, something my husband will eat.

 INGREDIENTS:

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
4 cups cooked green beans
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 1/3 cups French fried onions
PREPARATION:

Mix soup, milk and pepper in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup of the fried onions. Bake for about 25 minutes at 350 degrees F. Top with the remaining 2/3 cup fried onions and bake about 5 more minutes, until onions are lightly browned.
Serves 6.

We also toss in a can of sliced water chestnuts to give it a bit of extra crunch!  It also works with cream of celery soup (I don't like mushrooms).  Mmmm!!!!!
