Has anyone used one of these? Are they any good? I was thinking it would be a handy thing to have for days out when  there's no highchair available.

To tell you the truth, we went straight from high chairs to a normal chair.  Although at home, we have a chair cover which has built in straps (bought at Mothercare).  We used the seat straps for a while, but used it more for a protective cover for the wooden chair.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

We have one for Isabella and just love it!  We don't have enough room for a highchair in our flat, so we use it at home, too!  It comes in a small cloth pouch and we carry it in her diaper bag.  A friend of ours put us on to it.  She uses one for her son, also.

We used this thing, different color.

Blooming Marvellous sold a portable chair thing that looked fantastic, just basically tied around the front of the kid, and attached around the back of the chair.

We only used this thing when going places for a few days, like the grandparents, etc. It was a Godsend. but for short term things, like just out to eat or a meal away, we'd just use our lap. Couldn't be bothere toting anything around.
