Mummys little piggy
« on: January 07, 2006, 10:42:47 PM »
I ended up buying rusks for Courtney today, she would drink 6-7oz of formula and still want more every 2 hours  :o. The rusks say from 4+months but Courtney isn't even 3 months yet and she loves it. Its helping her not drink too much formula. 1 rusk mixed with formula, and about 4-5 oz of formula by bottle fills her up for atleast 4 hours now.. At this rate she will have to be weened soon! *insert piggy smilie here* :)

a hard dry biscuit for babies/toddlers. right now I just smush it up with formula so its mushy. she had trouble eating out a spoon,so I had to dip my small finger in it and put it in her mouth, she sucked my finger like a vacuum cleaner lol

Thanks ya for the complient Dawn , both me and Dale have no idea where she gets her looks from  [smiley=gorgeous.gif];D

LOL, I can picture it. When my Sarah was that age we started putting some rice cereal in her formula because she was taking a full bottle every couple of hours and acted like she was starving. The rice cereal took her to every four hours, what a relief especially at night. She was a big baby, 9.5 lbs.

We had her on farleys second milk which is suppose to be for hungrier babies,it was thick like rice cereal. but that still didn't please her! everytime anyone eats in front of her she looks at them and grunts , lol She was 7 lbs when she was born, now shes around 11 lbs... lol

edited to say: before I gave her rusks, and she ate 6-7oz every couple hours, I had to change her nappy every 15-30 minutes!

Some babies are hungrier than others. Jack was on SMA white in the hospital and on baby rice in less than a month. He was nearly 11lbs at birth and straight baby milk just wasnt cutting it for him. All my babies were on food early.

aillidh was ravenous!  she started watching us eat and trying to grab our utensils at 5 months, so we gave her a little banana and she never looked back!  she was on hungrier baby formula at 2 weeks as well.

she's a wee cutie, EY!  to me, it looks like she takes after her daddy.

Be careful about the sugar content of rusks though, some are sugar free some are not.

The only ones I found in Boots were reduced sugar, what stores carry sugar-free?

I think I saw some sugar-free rusks in Tescos? They seem to carry a good range of organic snacks and things.. I think it was the Organix ''Goodies'' range.

I love the pics of Courtney! ;D

That's a GREAT range!  Terrific for snacks on the go or a quickie brekkie - the fruit and muesli bars.

Off to dig up recipe for rusks . . .(I used to make them for Aillidh)
