Beginning to worry
« on: January 17, 2006, 07:26:49 AM »
Hi everyone. I have been trying since New Year to contact the Solihull Home Office to make an appointment to get my ILR. Their switchboard is messed up, according to the website (which I can only occasionally get on!) and the phone is not connecting me to anyone. It rings and rings and then a recording says 'Sorry, no answer. Thank you for using Global Messaging!' (I would love to slap that smug cow!)

So yesterday I tried to phone Croydon to find out if I can go to Solihull and make the appointment in person, since they can't be asked to sort out their phone (I wonder what they do with all those £500 fees they collect!) Couldn't get through to them either.

Can someone help me here? I don't want to travel to Solihull only to be told I can't make an appointment in person. Can't call them, can't turn up in person, no email address listed on the site.

I feel like Joseph Yossarian here!

Can I make the appointment in person? If so, I'll go on my day off (Friday).

Carla:
I called Croyden yesterday right at 9 a.m. sharp. I got some recordings, but then after it said "any other inquiries, punch #2," I did and got a gentleman. So you can talk to a live person in Croyden. Their hours are Mon-Thurs.9-4:45.
Good Luck.

If I can't find somebody to call, I'll fax something.  If it gets down to the 11th hour, I'll use somebody's 3rd Party hurry-up slot.

Carla, were you able to get through to Birmingham PEO? I've only been trying for 4 days and finally got through this morning around 10:30am.
