Getting started with the move

Boyfriend was just here and we got engaged!!    So now I'm starting the fun process of planning the move. I have made a general timeline - I'll move to UK in May 2004 and get married later that summer.

I'm selling my house hopefully putting it on the market in April or May... so I've loads to get rid of or decide if they're worth shipping.  I also have 2 small children that hopefully will make the move with me

For those of you that made the move... were there things that you wish you'd started earlier in the process - or maybe left til later? Or not worried over at all?

Any hints for how to tackle this would be appreciated.
