De-stressing
« on: January 23, 2006, 06:51:01 PM »
Im what they call in the UK, "A mature student". I'm taking two 60 point courses at the moment and have four kids to take care of. It seems at the moment things are starting to pile up on me. Last Saturday I worked on my essay for 6 hours and finally at 11:30pm I forced myself to quit but despite me closing the books I just couldnt disconnect! I felt I could actually see printed words in front of my eyes! I broke down in tears. I was crying to hubby that I couldnt shut off. He coudnt understand it at all. I had a drink and it helped a little. Finally I just went to bed. I spoke to a friend of mine who is also taking two courses. She said she goes through the same thing nearly every week. She said she is often in tears. I felt a bit better to know Im not alone however she manages to get better marks that I do! lol
So what do you all do to unwind, de-stress? Its so easy to see how kids at uni can go on drinking binges!

work out we've got a rower ...the X-box actually helped it's good to shoot storm troppers ;D

I've got DVDs of Family guy , Spaced and Black books so a good laugh before bed helps.
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Usually a hot bath and a stiff drink, works every time if needed. ;D

Go for a walk, take it out at the gym, read a good book that has nothing to do with what i'm studying

Bottle of wine. LOL.

I cry a lot around deadline time 'cause I usually put everything off until about 2 days before something is due.  ::)

hmm..I know what you mean my lovely family always put a spanner into me trying to focus on my work.

I do a bit every so often when I'm doing essays the worse is when I get emails from other classmates to check their essay ....like wtf do I know I'm trying to figure it out! or they want me to show them my work...yeah right, for you to copy...no way!! We are given workbooks to fill out and I get into class and it ends up being copied  >:(
