And RubyWine, be sure that you take care of yourself, too. Don't be so ascetic and hard working that you don't take time out to pamper yourself, be silly, talk to a friend.. dealing with such a profound change and being a caregiver is a stressful job indeed. You're in my prayers.

Excellent advice, PS! Caregivers often experience stress-related health problems which go untreated because they are so focused on the their "ill" loved one. Good luck, Pauline.

Thanks very much for your concern. I'm very lucky that I have such wonderful friends and family who I know are there for us both  :)

You mentioned as long as we can prove that we can support oursevles we will be fine - but does that mean we need to prove we HAVE supported ourselves or we still need to prove that we CAN support ourselves?
