On another totally unrelated note, I am making lasagne and don't have enough sauce to put on the top of it and thus just put ketchup on it.  I feel that was a very dumb mistake.... :-\\\\

It's a white sauce that normally goes on top of lasagne... bechamel.
Easy to make with flour, milk & butter!  I usually add salt, pepper & a dash of nutmeg as well...

When I first read this thread I thought "baby bisquick" was some sort of new baby food.   :D

Me too!

I have got an unopened box of Bisquick in the cupboard. Bought it last pancake day but never used it and it's still sitting there.

All I know is it's the last day before Lent and you are supposed to be using up all the stuff you are not going to be eating during Lent. Don't ask me how that ends up being pancakes!

One great use of bisquick are sausage balls, 1.5 cups bisquick, pound of breakfast sausage (raw) and 2 cups of finely grated cheddar. Mix this all up, form into walnut size balls, place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until golden brown. So good!

You can use 1 - 2 cups of cheese, we just happen to like a lot in ours. They are so good my husband usually burns himself eating one before they have a chance to cool a bit. My four year old loves them too.

Correction - I cook mine on a Pyrex baking dish sprayed with a little cooking spray, they always tend to burn on my cookie sheets.

I don't use Bisquick.. I must be a weird American... ;D

I am addicted to real maple syrup...

At our local Sainsbury's you can get a lighter version in the "gourmet" food section...or a darker grade organic amber in the ice cream topping, custard, sweet section. One aisle from the cakes.

Real maple is expensive in the USA as well compared to the corn syrupy sweetened syrups.  :-X
