Changing employer on work permit

I have an offer from a new employer but have a 5 year work permit issued through another employer.  Has anyone had experience with the process of changing employers?  The Home Office site says I'll new to completely reapply.  Is it a speedy process if I already have work in my field thus have been "pre-screened"?

Yes, if the occupation has been cleared, Sheffield's processing time is reduced correspondingly.  I used to do this all the time when I was on work permits, it's very straight-forward.  But remember not to resign until you've been told you can do so...

I would be surprised if it took much more than a week for the process to be completed (providing all the documentation is enclosed).
