My birthday getaway
« on: February 08, 2006, 11:34:28 AM »
Here's where the BF and I have booked for my birthday weekend next month:

It sounds so nice! I can't wait!!

Since I live in the country, I'd actually rather prefer a city mini-break, but the BF is not happy in cities, so I'm learning to compromise. Still ... this seems like a very nice compromise!  We'll go to Hay-on-Wye (about half an hour away) and wander around the bookshops one day and then do some country walking the next. Yaye! :)

Here's where I really wanted to stay, but they were already fully booked. That'll teach me to wait so long:

Maybe next year!

Oh, I love Hay-on-Wye!  I had so much fun there when I visited, since I'm a definite bibliophile :)  Hope you have fun on your birthday trip!

Coming up soon, eh?!!  Very exciting! ;D

I do hope you'll have some lovely weather, instead of this freezing c-c-c-cold! [smiley=elf.gif]

The forecast calls for more of the same. :(

Still, at least it won't be raining.

The menu (and the wine list) looks divine -- will you have a 'chocolate nemisis' for me?! :)  (I don't know what that is, but it sounds good!)

I haven't even looked at the menu! LOL! I'm not big on chocolate desserts, though, so will probably pass up the "nemesis." Sorry.

Oh well -- the tea & scones sound good too! :)  (And chocolate IS my nemesis...but soooo good.)

OK, now I've looked at the menu! I would definitely have the ricotta terrine with praline and slow roast figs! Yum!!!
