More questions about spouse visa....
« on: February 18, 2006, 12:28:11 AM »
Questions-

1. How many months worth of bank statements do I need to include?  Do I need to have both my husband's (he's from the UK) and mine? Or, just his?
2.  When they say they need the mortgage or lease papers to show you have somewhere to stay, do they mean a copy of it or the ACTUAL papers?  If its a copy, does it have to be certified by a notary public?
3. Do they look at the amount of debt you have?  I ask this because when I apply in person next month, I'll still have a bit of debt, but it will be paid off by the time I leave.  Do they even look at this?
4. What kind of proof do they want to show you have a relationship with your spouse...plain ticket stubs, phone records, pictures?  If so, how much should I bring?
5. Is there anything else that I should bring with?  Any recommendations?

Thanks! :)

3 months bank statements off both of you
lease/mortgage papers originals the bank will supply them if you need them.
Job details or offer for your husband wage slips, p60 that type of thing
any savings either of you may have statements

Letter off your husband saying he knows you are applying to come over and that he will support you with out recourse to public funds his name and address have to be on this
a letter off both of you just saying what you have done when you met and some pics maybe some letters off friends family anything that will prove you have met 2photos of him 1 of you small pass port size ones application form sponsorship form pass ports original, and or birth certif 's full size ones, proof of your husbands address bills council tax etc,

If your husband gets tax credits he can include this in the earnings and send proof of it but he can not claim for you at all, but is entitled to it in his own right if he already claims it. do not know what his situation is.
there are also loads of lists from other people on here giving details of what they have taken. But from what I have read its better to have to much than not enough info.

Good luck.

My soon to be husband and I get married in May in the states and are applying.

The site says of both of you, it actually says 2 of you as the person applying and 1 of him but over here they come in a set of 4 anyway so you may as well cover yourself and send in 2.

If you're applying for a spousal visa from outside the UK you only need 2 pictures of the applicant. If you are applying from within the UK for LLR you'll need two of the applicant and 1 of the spouse.
