help
« on: February 23, 2006, 02:16:10 PM »
Ok...I have my fiance' visa, a 1 way ticket on British Airways, for March 3rd.

Now...in the past ive filled out the card stating I'm a US citizen, and other info including my destination address.

I'm a little confused......do I put my destination address as my new address...or do I need to fill out this card?

I'm a little nervous about Imigrations and need reassurance

Do I need to have any extra info with me?

Thank you for the help......I don't want a hastle....things have gone real smooth so far. :o [smiley=help.gif]

9 more days [smiley=balloon.gif]

I did this in October of 2005.  I did fill out a landing card.  At immigration, I simply told them I was getting married and had no problems.  You should be fine with them.  I know how scary it is.  I told my husband ot be ready to get his boss on the phone as he works for the Govt.!!!  I was very nervous.

You've come to the right place, though as people are VERY helpful here.

Everyone no matter if you're a UK citizen or not has to fill out the landing card.  Just fill it out as normal & put your new address on it :)

People with right of abode don't have to fill in landing cards, so when you get UK citizenship you can stop!

Yeah, you may get flight attendants on international flights who may be new to international flying. I worked with one last week. On the UK-US leg, she gave every UK passport holder both the Visa Waiver form AND the I-94 for Visa holders ::)

If you are entering on a British passport you only fill in a white card I think the colour is but you do not need a visa waiver as you live here,

I assume that if you are going to be living here and have a visa to prove that in your passport it would be the same, if you are unsure just fill out both you can always throw the one you do not need away after.

If you are entering the UK on a US passport with a fiancee visa in it you do not need to fill out a visa waiver form but you do need to fill out the landing card.

I see Victoria has already answered this and I'm just chiming in to agree with her. US-UK the landing forms are given out to non-EU passport holders. So if you have a US passport WITH or WITHOUT a fiancee, spouse or whatever kind of visa, you have to fill it out.

UK-US Everyone gets a US customs form (families can combine on 1) and non US citizens fill out the white (have visa) or the green (visa waiver) immigration form.

A form has to be filled for each person travelling I had to do 5 the last time for myself and the children when entering the USA. Both forms.

As for the entering the UK I was agreeing, But can never remember the names of the cards filled in by anyone coming over from the states.

I don't think you read my answer correctly. The US customs form is 1 PER FAMILY. The immigration forms (White 1-94 or green visa waiver) are done by each.
Trust me--I fly back and forth several times a month for work and commuting.

You where lucky then I was given 5 and had to fill them all in. These where given to me buy the air crew. So I can only go on what I had to do. The best bet if in doubt is to do it and if they are not required regardless of coming to the UK or the USA no harm done just 10 mins out of how many wasted it is hardly a big issue on the scale of things better to be safe than find you do need them and not have them.

If not need they can be thrown away.

I'd ask the flight attendant.
