Good chiropractors are the best! DH and I have been getting regular treatments by a chiropractor (about once a month) for years, and I have to say that I think it has a big effect on our overall health. We eat fairly well and exercise regularly, but we rarely get sick anymore and have much more body awareness now (we know now when something is "out", like a rib or hip--time to make an appointment!).
I was really skeptical when I first went, it took DH about 4 months to convince me, but the results are great. (and DH is not into any "woo-woo" type alternative medicine at all, which made his insistence even more intriguing) Our chiro emphasizes soft tissue work in addition to the adjustments. Her view is that if you don't work the muscles, then the adjustments are useless--the muscles will wrench everything out of alignment. So it's almost like a massage at the same time.
Highly recommended! Seems best though to get a referral from a friend who can give you info about how the chiro works, etc.
