Hard date of relationship?

My partner and I got engaged 2 years ago, we had lived together for 2 years prior to that, but i had most things under my name in our flat. How do we set a hard date for our cohabitance prior to our engagement? Should we get a letter in writing from some of her family or what other ideas could there be? we are applying for my unmarried partner VISA in the summer, and am wondering about evidence to substantiate our relationship. We now have a joint bank account, and both our names are on utility bills etc.

Have you lived together for the past two years?  This is the only period of time that really counts if you are intending to apply for the unmarried partners visa.
