Which is better?? IPod or Creative Labs Zen?!?
« on: March 08, 2006, 12:41:22 AM »
I'm looking to get a MP3 player and don't know what to get.  I'm thinking about getting an Ipod or Creative Labs Nomad Zen.  Can anyone recommend which one?

Also, if you have another MP3 player that you love, let me know..!

Thanks :)

This is airmom's son. I have a Nomad Zen Xtra, and it works great. It's much more cost efficient than an iPod, but the interface isn't so great. If you already have CDs ripped into iTunes, you won't be able to use them on your Zen unless you yake a while to convert all of them to the right format. I've heard from numerous people that the Zen has slightly better sound quality.

If you're willing to pay the extra money, it doesn't matter. Take the Zen.

I've had both and prefer the Zen.  :)

Here's a thread of 7 pages of people talking about mp3 players:

I have an Ipod and I love it, mostly because I like using Itunes and it is so easy to download songs and upload them to the Ipod.  I have mobiblu mp3 player but I haven't actually used it because it was more of a hassle to load songs onto.

I went for the Zen and am very happy with it! It holds more than an iPod and also has radio.

I have the Zen micro and I love it...with 6BG of memory it was enough for me...the downloading is easy and I like how it feels.  I think the quality of them is just as good as an IPOD...what they don't have is all the accessories...but if you don't need them then I would get the Creative Lab product.

i went for the iPod Nano, just because it was the easy option.
But i like it... especially since i had the car kit installed so i could play it through my car stereo speakers.

I play my Zen through the car speakers, too. Isn't it fun? :)

I have an ipod mini and when we get back to SF in May we will buy hubs a nano.  But I am a mac user/lover/fan.  My friends also have the Zen and really like it to.  Personal preference I guess!

If Creative Zen had the iTunes interface it would be perfect. I like the iPod mini I have and really like using iTunes. My husband has a Creative Zen player and I don't like their software at all.

I've got an Apple Nano and I'm not impressed. I say Creative Zen is better particularly because I'm raffling off one

I have a Creative Zen that is a couple years old now and I love it. I had an iPod for awhile before that (but my ex-bf bought it for me and after a week decided it was his!). I prefer the Zen.

Some people won't look at anything other than an iPod just because it's an iPod...like for status, or something, you know? It does have a sleeker look than a lot of others and everyone knows they're more expensive. I'm not saying everyone...but some people.
