I've never eaten smarties, so I don't know what the inside is like.

ooooooooooooo, bounty cookies...*drools*

it might be easier to freeze the little buggers before you start baking, then pop them into a ziplock bag & smash their little candy asses to bits with a rolling pin.  ;D

Now I'm drooling. Wonder if there is anything in the house to make cookies with?

oh my god...... i really don't know how to describe them. They taste like no other cookie I've ever had. they are ooey and gooey in spots, but it's the combination of flavors. Sometimes chocolatey, sometimes coconut...sometimes cinnamon....they are a HUGE SUCCESS. :D But it's a huge batch.....probably give some to the neighbors.

OMG... they sound gorgeous!

Yah, the last one I had this morning had a bit of the caramel bar in it, and the bite came away all stretchy and gooey.

Maida Heatter has a brownie recipe that includes York peppermint patties. You put half the batter into the pan, then lay the mints wall to wall across the pan, then spread the rest of the batter on top. They are something yummy! I usually make them sometime after Christmas when the red and green wrapped mints go half-price.  I think bits of chocolates would work for your cookies too, although you might have more success in bar form (bar cookies I mean, if that makes sense).  Things might get a little bit chewy and gloppy, which is all good.

The thing that was weird, was there were green patches when the cookies came out, I couldn't figure out at first what had green food coloring in, but then I realized it was the minstrels that had a patch of green around them! Didn't matter to me, I just thought it weird that they put green coloring in a minstrel, which is all chocolate!
