Anyone from Illinois???
« on: April 09, 2006, 05:48:47 PM »
I've been trying to find out the answer to this question, but no one (even tax preparers) seems to know.  If I am an Illinois resident and move to the UK, is that enough to end IL's claim to me?  Or, do I need to do something else?  Thanks..

I do not know which tax preparers you have been speaking with, but Illinois is always fairly simple.  I'd suggest reading p.3 of the instructions :

Thank you!!  I think I'm having trouble because I'll have worked in Illinois until May of this year before I move, so because I won't be domiciled in Illinois for the entire tax year, do I still file for the five months I worked in Illinois??
