Does "No Students" really mean no students???
« on: April 25, 2006, 03:52:08 PM »
I'm a 31 year old professional moving to Bath (possibly Bristol) in the fall to start graduate school for one year. I've been looking at places on line and some of the ones I would be interested in renting state "no students". Is this just undergraduate students or does this also include "mature" students?? I've read that "no pets" doesn't necessarily mean no pets, so I was curious if it worked in this instance as well. Thanks!

I've no direct experience here, but I have a feeling that once they learn your age, your student status won't be an issue. :)

I agree.  The 'no students' rule generally is to stop ireesponsible teenagers who will trash the place, have riotous parties, and won't pay their rent on time as they are dependent on loans.  I am sure a mature student will be fine.

Thanks for your advice! I don't see any riotous parties in my near future, so I should be good to go. Thanks!  ;D

I think you'll be fine if you tell them you are a professional and you're getting a higher degree. Think they just don't want undergrads, as they worry about the noise level and many different people coming and going.
