International Student Orientation
« on: May 02, 2006, 06:50:37 PM »
Hi. I'm pretty new to this site, but I love it already. I'm moving to the UK in July and will start a full-time degree course in September. My uni (University of Central Lancashire) has a 1 week orientation for all international students, but also one that starts 3 or 4 weeks sooner than that for all international students from outside Europe. Has anyone here had experience with this sort of thing? I'm not sure if I should go to the longer one, just for preparations sake. I speak and write UK English well, but the system is different so I'm curious about the extra preparation. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have no experience in this area, but I think I would go for the one that begins 3/4 weeks earlier. If you're coming from outside of Europe, I think it would be a smart choice to figure out as much as you possibly can about their system.
