general question about moving back to the US
« on: May 16, 2006, 01:30:36 PM »
greeting again ya'll.  My wife and I found out we may be moving back to the States so we can have our baby on American soil.  My question is, is there a good local company to call for packing and shipping our stuff back home in a container?  I used a US based company coming here and i'm not sure how it works use them again.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Should I call the US based company again?  Even though the chances of going back to the state they are located in is slim.  Just looking for a little direction if anyone has it.

Bloodied, but not beaten!

There is a firm here called GB Liners that is supposed to be good.  We currently use them for storage.  I think if you called the US company, they would farm out to a local one here anyway, but you could try.

When we move, we'll probably start by calling GB Liners as that's who we know.  Good luck!  We're hoping to move back soon ourselves, but I'll be having the baby in the US of A before we have that all worked out - this August.  I just sent all of our paperwork yesterday, so now it's just the waiting game.

Sorry for hijacking the thread!  Good luck with the move and let us know how it works out!

Most big movers subcontract with local people both in the US and the UK -- so I wouldn't worry about location.

I know a lot of people who have had good luck with Robinson's. My husband's visa interview is May 30...so if all turns out well we will be contacting them.
