Ok one more fiance visa question from me...just one more
« on: June 03, 2006, 08:52:28 PM »
I have collected everything to send in my fiance visa and now I am getting nervous right before I send it in. The thing is I dont work. I my fiance in the UK owns his own business. I have the past 6 months of his bank statemements but none of my own because I cant have a bank account ( it was a silly overdrawn account thing that happened when i was 18) Because if this banks will not approve me for a new account. My fiance sends me cash each month to live on but I have not record of having any money. Ok so I was reading up some stuff and I saw where some people sent in their bank statements as well as their fiancees. I was under the impression that I only needed his fiancial details because he would be the one to have to support me until I was able to work. So do I have something to worry about?

This is a list of the documents that  I have that will accompany my application form:

passport
2 recent passport photos of myself
fiacees British passport/certified copy of
my letter of intent
written letter of intent/support form fiancee
fiancee mortgage statement as evidence of accommodation in the UK
fiancee proof of business ownership
3-6 months most recent bank statements from fiancee
projected monthly budget for us as a couple
letter from Registry Office
random phone bills from the past two years and phone card receipts
random cards from both of us to eachother
pictures of us together on various occasions

I think a lot of reasons why a lot of us yanks have sent in our financial stuff was because it helped support our financial situations.  It sounds like your fiance is well enough off to support you of his own and therefore you should be ok.  If you had information that might help the situation, then I would say send it.  They are just wanting to make sure that you will not be in the need of public funds once entering the country.

Best of luck!

Thanks. When I was putting my notebook together I felt that I had everthing that I needed and I was thinking there is no way they will refuse me a visa but now that I have it all ready to send  I am driving myself crazy with reasons they could turn me down. This is just so important and I really can't have this go wrong :-[

I think everyone freaks out.  I know I did a bit. It'll be fine, just think about how great it will be once you have it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was driving myself crazy with nerves :)
